We specialize in providing high-quality Teak, American Walnut, and Mahogany. These are our core offerings due to their exceptional properties, wide applications, and popularity among our clients.
However, we understand that our customers may have diverse needs, and we strive to cater to those requirements. As a result, we also have access to a variety of other exotic tropical timber species, such as Guapinol, Balsamo, IPE, Eucalyptus, Jatoba, Cedar, and more. Our extensive network of suppliers and strong relationships with certified plantations in Nicaragua allow us to source these additional timber varieties to meet the specific needs of our clients.
If you are interested in any of these exotic timber types or have a custom request, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our team is more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect timber solution for your project.
We take several measures to ensure that the timber we source is both sustainable and legal:
Certified Plantations: We only work with certified plantations in Nicaragua that adhere to the highest standards of sustainability. These certifications, such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), ensure that our suppliers practice responsible forestry management and meet strict environmental, social, and economic criteria.
Government Registration: All of the plantations we work with are registered with the Nicaraguan government agency, INAFOR (National Forestry Institute). This registration guarantees that these plantations have obtained the necessary permits and follow the regulations set forth by the Nicaraguan government to ensure sustainable forestry practices.
By working exclusively with certified and registered plantations, we can guarantee that the timber we source is sustainable and legal, and meets the high standards that both we and our clients expect. Our commitment to sustainability and legality is unwavering, and we are proud to be part of the effort to promote responsible forestry practices and protect the environment for future generations.
One of the primary ways we do this is by ensuring that all plantations and related operations, such as sawmills, provide employment opportunities exclusively to local residents. This approach not only helps create jobs but also contributes to the economic growth of these communities.
Additionally, our presence as a foreign investor in the Nicaraguan timber industry brings in valuable resources and expertise, further supporting the local communities by fostering sustainable development and improving living standards. We firmly believe that our business plays a crucial role in empowering these communities and contributing to their long-term success.
The typical lead time for an order from XOPA Timber varies depending on the type of wood you choose. For Teak and Mahogany, it takes approximately 45 days from the moment the customer places the order until the wood is placed on a cargo ship in Corinto, a port in Nicaragua. For Walnut, the lead time is slightly longer at around 60 days.
Once the wood is shipped, it takes an additional 10-20 days of sea transport to reach Europe. On average, you can expect the wood to reach the customer approximately 8-10 weeks after placing the order. We work diligently to ensure that our customers receive their orders promptly without compromising on quality or sustainability.
At XOPA Timber, we efficiently manage the import and export process of the timber by working closely with our Nicaraguan partners and leveraging our expertise in international trade. This process is divided into two main stages:
Export Process: Our Nicaraguan partners handle the export process in Nicaragua. They ensure that all necessary paperwork, permits, and certifications are in order for the timber to legally leave the country. Once everything is in place, they provide us with the required documentation for importing the timber into Europe (and other countries, if applicable).
Import Process: After the timber arrives in one of the EU ports, we take care of the import process. This includes handling customs clearance, compliance with EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), and any other necessary procedures. Once the import process is completed, we arrange for transportation of the wood to its final destination, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for our clients.
By collaborating with our local partners and utilizing our in-depth knowledge of international trade, we make the import and export process of the timber as seamless as possible for our customers, allowing them to focus on their core business operations.
We primarily focus on the EU market, but we have the capability and expertise to ship our products anywhere in the world. Thanks to our strategic location in Panama, we are able to secure the best rates for international shipping and ensure efficient logistics management.
The prices we provide to our clients always include shipping costs, unless stated otherwise. For customers within the EU, we can quote total costs immediately. For customers located outside the EU, we recommend getting in touch with us to discuss shipping options and receive a customized quote based on their specific location and requirements. This way, we can provide the most accurate and cost-effective shipping solution tailored to our clients’ needs.
Yes, our timber products are fully compliant with the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and other relevant regulations. Ensuring compliance is essential for us, as it allows us to legally import and trade our timber products within the European market.

For a more specific quote, inquiries, or to place an order for timber products, we kindly ask our clients to contact us directly. We accept international wire transfers as our primary payment method. When placing an order, we require a 50% down payment upfront, followed by the remaining 50% after the customer receives their cargo. To ensure the safety and security of both parties, we are also open to using an escrow service or a similar financial arrangement, providing an additional layer of protection during the transaction process.
Absolutely, we can accommodate custom dimensions and specifications for your timber order. Upon reviewing the claim and confirming the discrepancy, we will issue a refund for the affected portion of your order.
